Pueblo - River Ride

Janine Hegeman

The weather was not as forecasted; instead of sunny with temperatures in the 70’s, it was cloudy and in the 50’s. But we bravely soldiered on, enduring a few sprinkles on the way. The fall foliage was marvelous.

We made it to the Nature Center, where most had a picnic lunch out on the river overlook. Then we got a little scattered! Some folks had ordered food at the Nature Center Café and were just being served when the picnickers where ready to forge ahead to the Lake Pueblo Dam (and hopefully see a migrating tarantula).

Others chose to go ahead of the main group out to the dam and then on to the Riverwalk in downtown Pueblo. But, by all accounts, we all made it back to the Springs. No tarantulas were spotted, however. We’ll hope for better luck next year!
