Volunteerism Has Its Rewards…and More?

But, as many of us realize, an organization such as CSCC continues to be successful because of the volunteerism of many of the Club’s members. Just look that all the time and effort that contributed by the volunteers for the Buena Vista Bike Fest each and every year. Without that donated help, the event would not have been as successful as it continues to be.

The CSCC Board is thankful for all the volunteer time that is invested in supporting our mutual interest. Many people continue to donate their time year after year. And as with any time that’s donated to a passion, the personal rewards are often worth more than the time that’s invested. But with many new folks continuing to join the Club, I hear that the Board is wondering how can CSCC draw more members into the enjoyment of leading a Social Ride, for example, or creating new events and rides for our organization.

Along this line, I’m understand that there have been discussions ongoing for several months regarding a “rewards” program. I’ve been told that those involved have been pondering the value of such a program, what form it might take, what the “value” of the rewards might be and how such rewards might be redeemed. While I understand that the program has not yet been formulated, the thought is to continue moving towards introducing something new to encourage more CSCC members to voluntarily contribute time towards supporting this organization of similar minded cyclists. So, stay tuned…. I’m sure we’ll hear more in the coming months!
