Colorado Springs fashioned plenty of activities during Bike Month in June. Mountain Metropolitan Transit's Metro Rides organizes Bike to Work Day activities to encourage bicycling for personal and community health, alternative transportation, recreation, and sustainability. This year marks the 18th annual Metro Rides Bike to Work Day, and 2011 promises to be a banner year for cycling in the Pikes Peak region. Be sure to sign up for the 15 June Bike to Work free Breakfast at http://www.springsgov.com/Page.aspx?NavID=3921

Lee’s Inaugural CSCC Mystery Ride/Tour on Saturday, June 25, 2011 from 1:00-4:00pm. Meet at America The Beautiful Park on the bike trail next to the Fountain. Prepare to learn many interesting facts about the places and towns we ride by/through on a regular basis. Lee has lined up a number of well qualified speakers to both inform and entertain us with both historical information and interesting facts at each of the dozen stops included on this tour. Expect surprises, gee whiz information and entertainment. Think of each stop as a “movie preview” to whet your interest for a longer future visit.

Area cyclists can expect increased BIKE VALET services offered at major community events held in the Pikes Peak Region this biking season. This innovative service ensures your bicycle is safe and secure so you can enjoy activities without hauling your bike through crowds.
